Guest ratings

Rate a guest after a difficult stay and see ratings other campsites have left — stars shared across Campiamo, your written note kept private.

Last updated August 24, 2026

Most guests are great. For the rare one who isn't — the pitch left in a state, music until 3am, the extra unbooked tent — Campiamo lets you record a guest rating: one to five stars and a short note about what happened. If that guest later books with another campsite on Campiamo, the other site sees a warning before the guest arrives, and the same protection works in your favour: when a guest someone else has rated books with you, you'll know.

Leaving a rating

Open the booking and find Rate this guest in the Guest Details card. The button appears once the stay's check-in date has passed — so it covers finished stays and no-shows alike — and each booking can carry one rating.

Pick a star rating and describe what happened, factually. "Left the pitch littered and a broken bench" tells the next campsite something useful; insults tell them nothing and may get the rating removed. You can edit or withdraw your rating from the same place at any time.

Who sees what

This is deliberately unequal, and worth understanding:

  • Other campsites see the stars, your campsite's name, and the date — for example "Rated ★★☆☆☆ by Meadow Fields Campsite · Aug 2026". They never see your written note.
  • You see your own note alongside your rating.
  • Campiamo can see notes, because we moderate ratings when a guest or campsite complains.

The same applies in reverse: when a rated guest books with you, the warning shows on the booking page, on the guest's profile, as a small ★ badge on the POS today board, and as a line in your new-booking email — stars and source only, never the other site's note. No guest details travel between campsites; you only ever see ratings attached to bookings and guests already in your own dashboard.

What a rating does — and doesn't do

A rating is information, not a block. A rated guest can still book anywhere, at full price, exactly as normal. What changes is that the campsite taking the booking knows to look, and can decide for themselves — a phone call to set expectations, a deposit, or cancelling the booking if they judge it isn't worth the risk. That decision is always yours.

Ratings are also separate from your blacklist: blacklisting a guest refuses their future bookings at your site only, and is never visible to anyone else.

Keep notes factual and about the stay. Ratings that read as personal attacks can be removed by Campiamo, and repeated misuse can lose a site access to the feature.

Fairness and privacy

Ratings describe real people, so the system is built conservatively: notes stay private to their author, other campsites see only a star score, and ratings are stored against scrambled identifiers rather than readable guest details. Guests can contact us to query a rating about them, and we review and remove ratings on complaint. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
