The Midnight Loo Run is a free one-button camping game. Your browser needs JavaScript and canvas support to play it.

Tap, click or press space to jump. Hold for a bigger jump. Hit Full screen and turn your phone sideways for the best view.

It's 3am and nature is calling. Get to the toilet block without waking the whole campsite. Your torch is dying and somebody has left their wellies out.

One button

Tap to hop over a tent peg, hold to clear a sleeping dog. Guy ropes are longer than they look. They always are.

Mind your torch

The beam shrinks as the battery drains, and you run faster the further you go. Grab batteries or finish the trip by feel.

Challenge a friend

Share your run and your friend gets the exact same field, obstacle for obstacle. No excuses about a harder course.

A free camping game for anyone who has done the walk

Every camper knows it. You wake at 3am, the tent is warm, the field is not, and the toilet block is a very long way off. You find one shoe, grab the torch with the dying battery, and set out across a campsite that has been quietly booby-trapped by everyone else's guy ropes.

The Midnight Loo Run turns that walk into a one-button endless runner you can play online, free, in any browser. There is nothing to download and nothing to sign up for. It works with one thumb on a phone and with the space bar on a computer.

You speed up the further you get, the torch beam shrinks as the battery drains, and the signposts are no help at all: the toilets are always 200 metres away.

Tips for a longer run

  • Tap for low things like pegs and wellies, hold for the dog, the chair and the guy ropes.
  • Guy ropes are wider than they look. Jump early and hold.
  • Take every battery you can reach. Once the beam is small you are reacting, not planning.
  • Keep holding as you land and you will bounce straight into the next jump.

Questions about the game

Is The Midnight Loo Run free to play?

Yes. It is completely free, with no download, no sign-up and no adverts. It runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer.

How do you play?

It is a one-button game. Tap the screen, click, or press the space bar to jump. A quick tap is a small hop and holding gives a bigger jump. Clear the obstacles and collect batteries to keep your torch alight.

What are you jumping over?

Everything you find on a real campsite at night: guy ropes, tent pegs, abandoned wellies, cool boxes, camping chairs, a sleeping dog and the occasional gift from a sheep.

Why does the screen get darker?

Your torch battery is running down. The beam shrinks as it drains and flickers when it is nearly flat. Grab a battery to recharge it, or finish the run by feel.

Can I challenge a friend?

Yes. When your run ends, choose Challenge a friend to share a link. They play the exact same field you did, obstacle for obstacle, and see the distance they have to beat.

Can I add the game to my own website?

Yes. Campsites, camping blogs and forums are welcome to embed it for free. Copy the embed code from the game page and paste it into any web page. Please keep the credit line.

Who made it?

Campiamo, which makes booking and management software for campsites, glamping sites and holiday parks. We made the game for fun, for anyone who has ever crossed a dark field in their pyjamas.

Who made this?

Campiamo, booking software for campsites

We spend our days helping campsites, glamping sites and holiday parks take bookings online. We can't do much about the guy ropes, but we can stop the double bookings.
