How it works

Three steps, none of them yours

An assistant talks to Campiamo over an open standard called the Model Context Protocol. This is what happens when a guest asks one to book a campsite.

Found

The assistant searches campsites on Campiamo by place, dates, party size and facilities, and reads your description, pitch types, prices, rules and approved reviews.

Priced

It checks live availability and gets an itemised quote for the stay: pitch, extras and the deposit due now, from the same calendar and prices as your booking page.

Paid

When the guest agrees, the assistant hands them a secure checkout link. They pay you directly, and the booking lands in your dashboard like any other.

What the guest sees

A booking, as a conversation

No search page, no form. The guest describes the trip and the assistant does the rest, calling Campiamo for facts and availability and handing over a payment link at the end. Nothing is held until that link is paid.

Stripe or PayPal under Settings. The guest's payment is the moment they commit, so assistants only start bookings where a payment is taken online. Sites paid on arrival are still found and priced; the guest is sent to your booking page to finish.

A public face

Either list your campsite on the free Campiamo directory with one switch on your dashboard, or have your Campiamo-hosted website switched on. Either one makes you visible to assistants.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a commission on bookings from assistants?

No. The guest pays on your own Stripe or PayPal checkout, exactly as on your booking page. Campiamo takes nothing and never holds the money, on any plan.

Can an assistant book without the guest paying?

No. Assistants can search, check availability and quote at any campsite on Campiamo, but they can only start a booking where a payment is taken online. Where you take payment on arrival, the assistant sends the guest to your booking page to book themselves.

What can the assistant see?

Only what your public listing or website already shows: description, photos, pitch types, prices, rules, extras, booking questions, deposit terms and approved reviews, plus whether dates are free. It cannot see other guests, your calendar or your dashboard.

Which assistants work with it?

Any that support the Model Context Protocol, which today includes Claude, ChatGPT and most AI agent tools. Campiamo is listed in the official MCP Registry. Assistants that only browse the web can still find your listing and send guests to your booking page.

How do I turn it off?

Assistants see your campsite because it is on the directory or your hosted website is live. Switch off the directory listing on your dashboard, and disable the hosted website if you use one, and you are no longer visible to them.
