Frequently asked questions
Is it priced in US dollars?
Yes. Subscriptions are billed in USD: Growth is $39 a month, and the Starter plan is free forever for up to three site types. Your guests pay you in USD too, straight into your own Stripe account. Canadian campgrounds take guest payments in Canadian dollars, and the Campiamo subscription is billed in US dollars.
Do you take a commission on bookings?
No. Campiamo charges a flat subscription and takes 0% commission on every plan, including the free one. The only other cost is the card processing fee charged by Stripe or PayPal, which goes to them.
How do lodging taxes, sales tax and GST/HST work?
Guests are charged the rates you set, so build any lodging tax, sales tax or GST/HST into your prices. Their confirmation shows the total paid. Itemized tax lines are not available yet, so if your state or province requires tax shown separately at checkout, check that fits before you switch.
Does it sync with Hipcamp and Airbnb?
Yes. Hipcamp, Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo and Expedia sync by iCal, so a reservation on one blocks the dates on the others and on your own website. Any other platform that offers an iCal feed works the same way.
Can I keep my existing website?
Yes. Drop the booking form or availability search into WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or any HTML site with one line of code. Paid plans also include a full booking website if you would rather replace it.
You are based in the UK. How does support work?
Support is by email and we reply within one business day, which in practice usually means an answer waiting for you in the morning. The documentation covers setup, channels, the calendar and the website step by step, and we migrate your existing bookings for free.
