Connect Pitchup to Campiamo

Set up the two-way Pitchup connection: Pitchup bookings arrive in Campiamo with the guest's details, and Campiamo keeps your availability on Pitchup up to date.

Last updated October 19, 2026

Pitchup is the one channel Campiamo talks to directly, through Pitchup's own system rather than a calendar file. A Pitchup booking arrives in Campiamo as a real booking with the guest's name, contact details, party and price. When the guest amends or cancels on Pitchup, the booking in Campiamo follows. And every time something changes in Campiamo — a direct booking, a cancellation, a hold on the calendar — the number of pitches Pitchup may sell is pushed to Pitchup within seconds.

Prices, arrival days and the listing itself stay in your Pitchup Manager Portal. Campiamo only ever changes one thing on Pitchup: how many pitches of each type are left to sell.

If calendar sync is new to you, how channel sync works explains the difference between this connection and the iCal ones.

Before you start

  • A Pitchup listing with its pitch types set up. Campiamo matches your Campiamo pitch types to the pitch types Pitchup already has for your site, so create them in the Manager Portal first. Pitchup also needs prices and arrival days on each pitch type, and your site activated, before it will show availability to campers — none of that comes from Campiamo.
  • Channels on your plan. Channel connections are included on Professional and Enterprise. If you are on another plan and want Pitchup, ask us.
  • Be ready for Campiamo to take over allocation. Once a pitch type is mapped, Campiamo becomes the source of truth for how many of it Pitchup may sell on each date, and overwrites the allocation you set in the Manager Portal. It sends the full number of pitches in Campiamo, less any already taken by Campiamo bookings and holds, and sends 0 for every date outside your season, your availability windows and your blocked dates. If you would rather Pitchup sold only a share of a pitch type, give that share its own pitch type in Campiamo and map that.

Pitch types that share pitches. If a pitch type in Campiamo stands on another type's pitches — five bell tents pitched on a 50-pitch field — Pitchup is never offered more than the pool has left, on either type. Pitchup itself has no idea the two share, so this is done entirely on the Campiamo side.

Step 1: Copy your API key from Pitchup

  1. Sign in to the Pitchup Manager Portal.
  2. Click Me at the top right, then My details.
  3. Scroll to the API key section and copy the key.

If there is no API key on that page, ask Pitchup support to enable API access for your account. A key from Pitchup's sandbox site does not work on the live site, or the other way round.

Step 2: Connect in Campiamo

  1. Go to Channels in the dashboard sidebar.
  2. Find Pitchup and choose Connect.
  3. Paste the key, leave Environment on Live and confirm.

Campiamo checks the key against Pitchup there and then. If your Pitchup account has more than one campsite, pick the one this Campiamo campsite is for.

Step 3: Map your pitch types

  1. On the Pitchup card, choose Map Pitch Types.
  2. Against each Campiamo pitch type, pick the Pitchup pitch type it corresponds to, or leave it as Not synced.
  3. Save Mapping.

Each Campiamo pitch type maps to one Pitchup pitch type, and each Pitchup pitch type to one Campiamo pitch type. Only mapped pitch types sync: a Pitchup booking on an unmapped pitch type is left where it is, and an unmapped pitch type's allocation on Pitchup is left alone.

If Pitchup has a pitch type that Campiamo does not — a campervan pitch, say, where in Campiamo a campervan is an extra on a camping pitch — add a matching pitch type in Campiamo before you map. A pitch type that shares another's pitches is the usual answer, so the two never sell more than you have. If you would rather that pitch type were sold through Pitchup only, untick Show to guests online on it in Campiamo: it then stays off your own booking page, widgets and website, and Pitchup still gets its allocation.

Saving the mapping runs the first sync straight away: upcoming Pitchup bookings (departing today or later) are imported, and availability for the next twelve months is pushed to Pitchup.

What a Pitchup booking looks like in Campiamo

It is an ordinary confirmed booking, with Pitchup as its source, the guest attached, the party and dates from Pitchup, the Pitchup total as its price, and the Pitchup reference and any special requests in its notes. It appears on your calendar, in your arrivals and in the POS like any other booking, and the guest receives your pre-arrival emails if you have them switched on.

Campiamo does not ask the guest for any payment: whatever the guest paid Pitchup, and whatever balance is due to you, is handled under your Pitchup terms as it is now.

Change or cancel a Pitchup booking on Pitchup, not in Campiamo. The change flows across to Campiamo, and the dates are released on both sides. A change made only in Campiamo never reaches Pitchup: the guest's booking stands there exactly as it was, and so does Pitchup's record of the pitch being sold.

What syncs, and how quickly

  • New, amended and cancelled Pitchup bookings reach Campiamo within moments: Pitchup notifies Campiamo as they happen. An hourly pass picks up anything a notification missed.
  • A booking, cancellation or hold in Campiamo is pushed to Pitchup within seconds, so Pitchup stops selling a pitch you have just filled.
  • Your season, availability windows and blocked dates go to Pitchup as 0 pitches to sell on those dates, and are restated every hour.
  • Sync Now on the Pitchup card runs both directions on demand.

Not synced: prices, arrival days, minimum stays, extras and your listing's descriptions and photos. All of those are managed in the Manager Portal, and Pitchup applies them to the pitches Campiamo says are available.

When something is wrong

"The API key could not be verified." The key is for the other environment (sandbox versus live), or was not copied in full. Copy it again from Me → My details on the live site.

"The API key is valid but no campsites were found." Your Pitchup account has no site on it yet. Create the site in the Manager Portal, with its pitch types, then connect again.

Pitchup shows nothing available, or the wrong number. Campiamo sends 0 for any date outside your season, availability windows and blocked dates, and otherwise the pitches left after Campiamo's own bookings and holds. Check the pitch type's availability settings in Campiamo first. If those are right, check the Pitchup side: a pitch type needs prices and arrival days in the Manager Portal, and a new site needs activating by Pitchup, before campers can see it. Sync Now restates the allocation.

A Pitchup booking has not appeared. Only confirmed Pitchup bookings are imported — a reservation Pitchup is still holding is not. Make sure the booking's pitch type is mapped, then Sync Now.

Disconnecting. Choosing Disconnect on the Pitchup card stops both directions and tells Pitchup to stop notifying Campiamo. Bookings already imported stay as records. Pitchup keeps the last allocation Campiamo sent it, so set the allocation you want in the Manager Portal afterwards.
