Connect Airbnb to Campiamo
Set up two-way iCal calendar sync between an Airbnb listing and Campiamo, so a booking on either side blocks the dates on the other.
Last updated Invalid Date
Airbnb and Campiamo exchange calendars using iCal — each side publishes a calendar link and reads the other's on a schedule. Dates booked on Airbnb are blocked in Campiamo (and everywhere Campiamo sells: your website, your widget, your other channels), and your Campiamo bookings block those dates on Airbnb.
If you haven't read how channel sync works, start there — it explains what calendar sync can and cannot carry, and it applies to every iCal channel including this one.
Before you start: one listing, one pitch type, one unit
An Airbnb listing is a single bookable space, which makes it a natural fit for calendar sync — as long as the Campiamo pitch type you link it to also holds one unit.
A calendar can only say a date is busy or free; it cannot say "2 of 3 left". Link an Airbnb listing to a multi-unit pitch type and one Campiamo booking will close the listing while other units sit empty — and if you've somehow sold the same space several times on Airbnb, the extra stays block inventory the pitch type doesn't have. The full explanation, and what to do about it, is in the Booking.com guide's unit-count section — the same rules apply here.
If you have three glamping huts each with its own Airbnb listing, that's three connections: each listing paired with its own one-unit pitch type.
Step 1: Create the connection in Campiamo
- Go to Channels in the dashboard sidebar.
- Find Airbnb and choose Connect.
- Pick the pitch type this listing corresponds to.
Leave the dialog open — you need a link from Airbnb, and Campiamo will give you one to take back.
Step 2: Copy your Airbnb calendar link
In your Airbnb hosting dashboard:
- Open your listing's Calendar, then Availability settings.
- Find Link calendars (Airbnb also words this as Connect to another website).
- Choose Export calendar.
- Copy the link Airbnb shows you — it ends in
.ics.
Copy the export link, not your browser's address bar. The address bar is a page you're signed in to, and Campiamo will refuse it with an error saying exactly that.
Step 3: Finish the connection in Campiamo
Paste the link into the Calendar link from Airbnb field and save. Campiamo checks it immediately — a login page or broken link is refused on the spot rather than accepted and left to fail silently.
Once saved, Campiamo shows your calendar link for that pitch type. Copy it.
Step 4: Import your Campiamo calendar into Airbnb
Back on the same Link calendars screen in Airbnb:
- Choose Import calendar.
- Paste your Campiamo link.
- Name it "Campiamo" so you recognise it later.
- Save.
The two calendars are now linked in both directions.
What syncs, and how quickly
Campiamo → Airbnb: your link publishes every unavailable date for that pitch type — bookings (confirmed, pending, checked-in), manual blocks, and dates outside your season or availability window — covering the next 365 days. How often Airbnb re-reads it is Airbnb's decision; in practice it's periodic rather than instant, so expect a delay of up to a few hours before a Campiamo booking shows as blocked on Airbnb.
Airbnb → Campiamo: we read your Airbnb calendar every 15 minutes. Busy dates become blocks on the pitch type, marked "Booked on Airbnb". You can press Sync now on the Channels page any time.
An Airbnb stay appears in Campiamo as blocked dates, not a booking — the calendar file carries no guest details, so there is nothing to build a booking from. Your guest's name, messages and payout all live in Airbnb; that's where to look on changeover day. Cancellations on Airbnb release the blocks on the next sync, and disconnecting the channel releases all of them at once.
When something is wrong
"That link did not return a calendar feed." — the link isn't a calendar export. Go back to Link calendars → Export calendar and copy the .ics link.
Airbnb shows the listing blocked when Campiamo is free. — remember the export includes your closed season and availability windows, not just bookings. That's deliberate: Airbnb must not sell a night you're shut.
Dates are blocked in Campiamo with no booking to open. — that's how an Airbnb stay looks: blocked dates, guest details on Airbnb. It isn't a fault.
Every sync is logged — open the connection on the Channels page to see its history and the exact reason for any failure. And remember iCal sync is never instant in either direction; the note on double bookings applies to Airbnb exactly as it does to every calendar-synced channel.
