Connect Expedia to Campiamo
Set up two-way iCal calendar sync between Expedia and Campiamo, so dates booked on either side are blocked on the other automatically.
Last updated Invalid Date
Expedia and Campiamo exchange calendars using iCal: each side publishes a calendar link and reads the other's on a schedule. Dates booked on Expedia are blocked in Campiamo — and on your website, widget and other channels — and your Campiamo bookings block those dates on Expedia.
If calendar sync is new to you, read how channel sync works first.
Before you start: unit counts must match
A calendar can only mark a date busy or free — it cannot count. The Expedia room you connect and the Campiamo pitch type you link it to should each hold one unit. If either side holds more, you'll either lose sellable nights or block inventory you don't have; the full explanation is in the Booking.com guide and applies to Expedia identically.
Step 1: Create the connection in Campiamo
- Go to Channels in the dashboard sidebar.
- Find Expedia and choose Connect.
- Pick the pitch type this room corresponds to.
Keep the dialog open while you fetch the Expedia link.
Step 2: Copy your Expedia calendar link
In Expedia Partner Central:
- Open Calendar.
- Find the iCal export option for the room you're connecting.
- Copy the link — it ends in
.ics.
Step 3: Finish the connection in Campiamo
Paste the link into the Calendar link from Expedia field and save. Campiamo checks it on the spot and refuses anything that isn't a calendar feed.
Once saved, Campiamo shows your calendar link. Copy it.
Step 4: Import your Campiamo calendar into Expedia
Back in Partner Central's calendar settings for the same room, find the option to import an external iCal calendar, paste your Campiamo link, and name it "Campiamo".
What syncs, and how quickly
Campiamo → Expedia: all unavailable dates for the pitch type — bookings, manual blocks, closed season, availability windows — 365 days ahead. How often Expedia re-reads is Expedia's decision.
Expedia → Campiamo: read every 15 minutes; busy dates become blocks marked "Booked on Expedia". No booking is created — the feed carries no guest data, so the guest's details and payment live in Partner Central. Cancellations release blocks on the next sync, and Sync now on the Channels page forces an immediate read.
When something is wrong
"That link did not return a calendar feed." — copy the iCal export link from Partner Central, not the page address from your browser.
Expedia shows you closed when Campiamo looks free — season and availability-window closures are exported on purpose, so Expedia can't sell a night you're shut.
Blocked dates with no booking behind them — that's an Expedia stay: the dates are held here, the guest is in Partner Central.
Sync history for the connection, with exact failure reasons, is on the Channels page. The note on double bookings applies here as with all iCal channels.
