Letting a holiday home to guests

When an owner lets their home through you: how guest bookings are taken, how your commission is set, and how the owner's share is credited on their invoice.

Last updated October 13, 2026

Some owners want their home earning when they are not using it. Campiamo lets you take guest bookings on an owner's home exactly as you would on your own units, keep a commission, and pass the rest to the owner as a credit against what they owe you.

Setting it up

Guest bookings in Campiamo are always taken on a pitch type, so an owner's home that is let out needs one of its own: create a pitch type for it with a quantity of one, its photos, its description and its nightly or weekly price, and set its availability to the dates the owner has released.

Then open the holiday home's record, tick This home can be rented to guests, choose that pitch type under Link to accommodation, and set the park commission as a percentage. That is the share you keep.

Bookings on that pitch type now count as rentals of the home. Guests book it on your website, through your widgets or at reception like anything else; they do not know or care that it is privately owned.

What the owner is due

The owner's share of a rental is what the guest has actually paid, less your commission. A booking that is only part-paid is credited on what has come in so far, and cancelled or pending bookings are not credited at all.

The home's page has a Rentals tab listing every booking on the linked pitch type with the guest's payment and the owner's share, and whether that share has been credited yet.

Crediting it

The owner's share is paid as a credit on their next invoice rather than as a separate payment. When you raise an invoice for the home, the page offers every rental not yet credited; tick the ones to include and each becomes a rental credit line, the one kind of line allowed to be negative. The invoice total is the site fee and utilities less the credits.

Each booking can be credited once. The rental credits an owner has received to date are totalled on their page.

If the credits outweigh the charges, the invoice total is negative and the owner is owed money. Campiamo records it on the statement but does not pay it out; settle it as you normally would and note it on the invoice.

If the owner stops letting

Untick the setting on the home. Existing bookings stand, but no new ones are treated as rentals of the home, and the Rentals tab disappears. Close the pitch type's availability, or delete it, so guests can no longer book the dates.
